About the position

The Data Architect role at Ellucian is a hybrid position focused on leveraging data analytics to support higher education institutions. The role involves migrating and curating data assets, building automated reporting systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance data quality and performance transparency. The Data Architect will become a subject matter expert in developing actionable metrics and analytics that drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and curate data assets from various operational systems into the corporate data lake using Informatica and/or other ingestion tools.
• Build automated reporting at scale using SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI for effective analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on design, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of data assets and reporting tools.
• Identify and improve inefficient reporting processes to enhance data quality and processing time.
• Develop actionable metrics, dashboards, and analytics to support business decisions.

Requirements

• 4 or more years of business analysis experience leveraging Tableau, Microsoft Excel, SQL Queries, and Relational Databases.
• 4 or more years of experience with data discovery/business intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Google Analytics, QlikView, SAP BusinessObjects.
• Demonstrated experience fulfilling ad-hoc data requests by querying enterprise size databases.
• Experience synthesizing operational and financial Key Performance Indicators into understandable business terms.
• Practical experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop business solutions.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques, including data mining and regression analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Results-oriented with a collaborative approach and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of interfacing with various organizational levels.
• Foundational skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques, and complex data analyses such as data mining and regression analysis.
