About the position

As a Senior Manager in the Data Architect role within the Life Sciences sector at EY, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients navigate the complex landscape of Information Strategy and Management. Your expertise will be essential in providing clients with a unique business perspective that is rooted in modernized thinking. This includes performing Master Data Management, Data Governance, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Content Management, and Knowledge Management, all of which are crucial for transforming and improving their organizations. You will assist clients in modernizing their information management approaches and procedures, particularly in areas such as agile governance for big data and practice management. This position is situated in a high-growth area, offering numerous opportunities for skill enhancement and career development. In this role, you will primarily manage client engagement teams, collaborating with a diverse range of clients to deliver professional services. You will also be responsible for managing business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts. Your key responsibilities will include leading large-scale client engagements, fostering relationships with client personnel, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality client services within expected timeframes and budgets. You will monitor project progress, manage risks, and keep key stakeholders informed about outcomes. Additionally, you will be expected to stay updated on current business and industry trends relevant to your clients' needs. Your role will also involve effectively managing and motivating client engagement teams, providing constructive feedback and coaching to team members. You will leverage your deep knowledge of Life Sciences Research and Early Discovery (R&ED) data and analytics, particularly in areas such as Target Screening, Lead Optimization, and Lab Instrumentation. Furthermore, you will cultivate and manage business development opportunities, develop long-term client relationships, and contribute to the strategy and implementation of various data management practices. As a thought leader in your area of expertise, you will help strengthen EY's brand in the data management space.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client engagement teams and deliver professional services to a variety of clients.
  • Lead large-scale client engagements and foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality client services within expected timeframes and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and keep key stakeholders informed about outcomes.
  • Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
  • Provide constructive on-the-job feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Cultivate and manage business development opportunities and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Assist in the strategy and implementation of Master Data Management, Data Governance, and other data management practices.
  • Develop thought leadership to strengthen EY's brand in the data management space.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and approximately eight years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately seven years of related work experience.
  • A minimum of six years' experience in providing complex consultative services in information strategy, big data architecture, and data governance, particularly in a life science or healthcare setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of modernized information management concepts and practices.
  • Experience with modern information management tools such as Talend, Collibra, and AWS.
  • Proficiency in advising clients on the full data supply chain from data wrangling to data consumption via analytics.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue within existing clients and developing new prospects at the 'C' level of Fortune 500 companies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Engagement leadership experience, including managing junior consulting staff and client relationships.
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs, with an estimated travel requirement of 80%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Computer Science, IT, or Engineering preferred; MBA desired.
  • Master's or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with big data platforms and cloud services such as Snowflake and Azure.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
