About the position

The Data Architect Manager at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is responsible for providing thought leadership in data management and overseeing projects that enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to develop comprehensive solutions for data sourcing, processing, integration, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership in data management and architecture.
  • Oversee the implementation of strategies to enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies.
  • Champion organizational behavior change related to data management.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions for data sourcing, processing, integration, and delivery.
  • Architect and build secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects in Microsoft Azure.
  • Design batch and streaming data ingestion processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of applicable experience with 10+ years in IT managing solution designs.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in lead roles architecting solutions at scale for cloud data platforms.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Cloud database technologies.
  • Hands-on experience architecting and building secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with a breadth of Data Platforms, Data Integration tools, Databases, Big Data Platforms, Cloud-based data platforms, and Data Streaming technologies.
  • Strong understanding of modern Data Architectures and the ability to understand Data in the context of Business goals.
  • Experience in architecting and building cloud-based analytical data platforms (like Data Lakes, Lake Houses, Data Warehouses, etc.).
  • Experience with data integration services such as Azure Data Factory.
  • Proficiency in the design of batch and streaming data ingestion.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Agency Management systems like Applied EPIC and Vertafore Sagitta, Benefit Point.
  • Knowledge of Informatica - IICS task flows development and maintenance.
  • Data bricks experience and certification.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or other cloud certifications.
  • Experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL database, PostgreSQL, or any relational database.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools; Power BI or Qlik.
