Medline Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Modeler and Architect to join our team. This position is critical as we continue to experience significant growth, having achieved double-digit growth in 56 of the past 57 years. The Data Modeler and Architect will play a key role in translating business requirements into effective data models that integrate seamlessly with our overall logical data warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining business data requirements and creating both logical and physical data models that support our data architecture. In this role, you will assist in the design and development of ETL standards, policies, procedures, and metadata to ensure the accuracy, quality, integrity, and optimization of our data. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining the Enterprise Business Intelligence data architecture, which is essential for increasing the robustness, performance, and scalability of our systems. Your efforts will ensure optimal end-user performance by establishing and executing overall system performance assessment processes and associated action plans. You will create conceptual, logical, and physical database models, as well as process and data lineage diagrams. Additionally, you will provide oversight and direction for the design and development of the data layer(s), develop logical data models, and physical database designs that are applied across multiple computing environments. Maintaining the quality of data in the warehouse is paramount, and you will ensure the integrity of data, correct any data problems, and establish design procedures to purge or archive old data. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with product owners and business users to understand and translate user stories and requirements into data models, analytics reports, and scenario models. You will also assist the development team in designing new BI solutions and work with ETL developers throughout the development life cycle. Leading technology review meetings and ensuring appropriate governance processes are followed will be part of your responsibilities. Documentation is crucial, and you will ensure that it meets established standards and is properly maintained to facilitate ongoing support and maintenance. As a technical leader, you will guide team members and develop standards, process flows, and tools that promote and facilitate the mapping of data sources, documenting interfaces, and data movement across the enterprise. Your architectural solutions will cover data structures, sourcing, integration, security, and retention, while defining governance and best practices around metadata to ensure an integrated definition of data for enterprise information.
