About the position

The Data Architect will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable and secure data architecture solutions within a leading financial services organization. This position requires a strong background in financial services to evaluate current data usage, develop future data architecture, and influence overall data strategy, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document current data consumption and ETL practices within the organization.
  • Define a future state architecture that supports scalable, secure, and compliant data infrastructure for on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Influence the data strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Design secure, cost-effective, and high-performing on-premise and cloud solutions.
  • Lead technical teams in implementing cloud-based solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Architect solutions to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency while minimizing risk.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to development teams on cloud services and best practices.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on strategic cloud transformation efforts.
  • Implement security best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Set up comprehensive monitoring and logging to ensure resource availability and performance.
  • Design and implement robust Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions for critical data recovery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and document all architectural designs and processes.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in roles such as Data Architect or Solutions Architect with a financial services background.
  • Advanced expertise in cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native applications, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Deep familiarity with BFSI regulatory frameworks and cybersecurity principles within financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; advanced degrees or cloud certifications are a plus.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills to influence strategy and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
