About the position

The Denzel Group is collaborating with a nationally recognized organization to fill an open Data Architect role. This position is primarily remote but requires an onsite presence two days a week in the Wilmington, Delaware area. The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role is critical in ensuring that the data architecture aligns with the organization's strategic goals and supports its data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in database design, data management, data modeling, and data integration. They will be expected to leverage their extensive experience in SQL to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity. The Data Architect will also work closely with other teams to facilitate data warehousing and ETL processes, ensuring that data flows seamlessly across various platforms and applications. Additionally, familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, will be essential for this role as the organization continues to evolve its data strategy. In this position, the Data Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the data landscape of the organization, ensuring that data is accessible, reliable, and secure. They will be tasked with developing best practices for data management and will be expected to stay current with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the organization’s data capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with teams to facilitate data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Optimize database performance using SQL and ensure data integrity.
  • Develop best practices for data management and architecture.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to data management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience with database design and data management.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, techniques, and tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio).
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration tools.
  • Strong experience with SQL and Python (v3.x).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and services with an emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (e.g., AWS, Azure).
