Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Data Architect/Scientist to support an enterprise IT program for an Intelligence Community client. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the client's information is stored effectively and securely, and that system requirements are analyzed and implemented for existing data migration. As the sole data scientist on the team, you will leverage your strong communication skills and prior experience to collaborate with both development and management teams, working independently to devise ad hoc solutions. The work you will be doing has a direct mission impact, contributing to the central repository for all the client's created applications, which includes state-of-the-art systems on cloud and physical systems, as well as applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and other web-based solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for developing data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development, ensuring integration with corporate data standards. You will monitor industry trends in database technology, develop and present technical recommendations to the client, and oversee the design, evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of major databases and metadata structures. Your duties will also include reviewing and evaluating database performance, providing technical direction for the maintenance of existing databases, and offering strategic advice in the creation and implementation of new data standards and databases. You will serve as the lead technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design, ensuring effective integration and optimal database performance while diagnosing and resolving complex problems related to data infrastructure.
