Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Data Architect/Scientist to support an enterprise IT program for an Intelligence Community client. This role is pivotal as it involves working independently and collaboratively with both development and management teams to provide data architecture solutions that ensure effective and secure storage of the client's information. The Data Architect/Scientist will be responsible for developing data and metadata policies, monitoring industry trends in database technology, and providing technical recommendations to the client. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Data Architect/Scientist will support multiple application teams that manage a central repository for all client-created applications, which includes state-of-the-art systems on cloud and physical platforms. The role involves overseeing the design, evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of major databases and metadata structures. The successful candidate will also be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex problems related to data infrastructure, ensuring that data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated. In this role, the Data Architect/Scientist will leverage their extensive experience in data architecture, database structure principles, and data modeling to provide comprehensive assessments of technical proposals and alternatives. They will also serve as the lead technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design and development, ensuring optimal database performance and integration of new technologies into existing systems.
