Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Data Architect/Scientist to support an enterprise IT program for an Intelligence Community client. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the client's information is stored effectively and securely, and that system requirements are analyzed and implemented for existing data migration methods. The successful candidate will be the sole data scientist on the team, leveraging strong communication skills and prior experience to collaborate with both development and management teams. The work performed in this role has a direct mission impact, contributing to the central repository for all the client's created applications, which includes state-of-the-art systems on cloud and physical systems, as well as applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, and SharePoint. In this position, you will be responsible for developing data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development, ensuring integration with corporate data standards. You will monitor industry trends in database technology, develop and present technical recommendations, and oversee the design and implementation of major databases and metadata structures. Additionally, you will provide technical direction for the maintenance of existing databases, conduct assessments of technical proposals, and serve as the lead technical resource in the strategic oversight of data models and database design. The role requires a proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving complex problems related to data infrastructure, ensuring that data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated. You will also be expected to strategically plan new designs for integration into the database structure, utilizing your knowledge of system characteristics and database interfaces to ensure effective integration and optimal performance.
