Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Data Architect/Scientist to support an enterprise IT program for an Intelligence Community client. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the client's information is stored effectively and securely, and that system requirements are analyzed and implemented for existing data migration methods. The successful candidate will be the sole data scientist on the team, leveraging strong communication skills and prior experience to collaborate with both development and management teams. The work performed in this role has a direct mission impact, contributing to the central repository for all the client's created applications, which includes state-of-the-art systems on cloud and physical systems, as well as applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, and SharePoint. In this position, you will be responsible for developing data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development, ensuring integration with corporate data standards. You will monitor industry trends in database technology, develop and present technical recommendations, and oversee the design and implementation of major databases and metadata structures. Your duties will also include reviewing database performance, providing technical direction for existing databases, and offering strategic advice in the creation and implementation of new data standards. You will be expected to diagnose and resolve complex problems related to data infrastructure, ensuring that data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in PL/SQL, Java, AWS, BASH, and Linux, with familiarity in Oracle and Linux user knowledge, preferably with CENTOS or Rocky. A forward-leaning attitude and experience as a database programmer are essential for success in this role. You will be expected to work independently and come up with ad hoc solutions to meet the needs of the client.
