About the position

As a Data Architect - Senior at GDIT, you will play a pivotal role in transforming technology into opportunity, particularly in support of the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and involves working at the forefront of innovation to enhance the systems that matter most to national security. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by focusing on how information moves across systems and applications. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data architectures that facilitate the efficient flow of information. You will leverage your extensive experience in requirements engineering, software architecture, software testing, and deployment to create systems that not only meet current needs but are also scalable for future growth. Your work will involve reviewing existing data architectures, determining specifications for new systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards to enable accurate reporting and data sharing across the organization. You will collaborate with various teams and external customer groups to develop strategies, design solutions, and guide implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts. Your ability to handle escalations, make assessments, and provide solutions will be essential in resolving issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architectures that facilitate efficient information flow across systems.
  • Review existing data architectures and determine specifications for new systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for data reporting and sharing.
  • Collaborate with teams and external customer groups to develop strategies and design solutions.
  • Guide implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts and handle escalations.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 12 years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • 9+ years of related experience in data architecture and software development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in requirements engineering, software architecture, software testing, and deployment.
  • Ability to work across teams and external customer groups to develop strategies and design solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to assess and provide solutions for escalated issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification.
  • Familiarity with Security+ or equivalent certifications.
