The Data Architect is responsible for designing relational and dimensional databases, applying relational theory and business process analysis to develop logical data models. This role involves converting these logical models into physical database objects using data modeling CASE tools. The Data Architect develops and implements enterprise-level strategies and principles for the integration of enterprise information resources by defining corporate standards for data architecture, format, quality, and database design. Additionally, the Data Architect is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of ETL processes. As a Staff level Data Architect, the individual will independently manage moderately complex projects and their components. This includes validating the analysis, models, and data conversion and quality assurance processes. The Staff Data Architect will provide input to help define best practices and standards in database design and business intelligence solutions. This position requires close collaboration with leadership and customers at the corporate level of the organization to develop integrated and standardized business intelligence solutions. The role also entails recording detailed logical and physical data models in the information repository, facilitating database design sessions, and translating business requirements into logical and physical system designs for moderately complex projects. The Data Architect will coordinate the physical database design and implementation process, ensuring optimal data presentation environments for customers and working with various reporting tools. Furthermore, the position involves monitoring and tuning database performance, developing and implementing ETL routines, and documenting business requirements for in-house developments. The Data Architect will also provide leadership for project development, manage customer expectations, and ensure system-wide integration.
