As a Data Architect at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the mission is never interrupted by delivering clarity through cloud solutions and providing meaningful work. In this position, you will apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. In this role, you will serve as the lead technical resource for strategic oversight and planning of database structural design and development. You will provide technical and strategic guidance to senior-level database administrators and application developers in the creation and implementation of new databases, as well as maintain major existing databases that support evolving applications. Additionally, you will offer strategic guidance to data stewards on the development and implementation of data models that support organizational business processes. Your responsibilities will include leading and consulting at all levels of the organization on the design, development, and implementation of logical database structures and classification schemas. You will also be responsible for developing policies and procedures to build, maintain, and leverage the data model. Furthermore, you will provide technical and strategic guidance on the development of metadata tags, Document Type Definitions (DTD), and schemas using appropriate technologies for representation such as HTML and XML. Ensuring that metadata and data standards and definitions support both local business processes and system implementations, as well as corporate requirements for sharing data, will be key to your success in this role.
