About the position

The EIT Data Architect at TEKsystems is a pivotal role responsible for establishing a comprehensive understanding of the organization's data infrastructure. This position involves overseeing the migration of the current data infrastructure to a target state, ensuring that all data components align with business processes. The Data Architect will communicate the vision and details of this migration clearly and concisely to a diverse audience, including key stakeholders across the Bank. In this role, the Data Architect will build a data architecture optimized for large dataset retrieval, analysis, storage, cleansing, and transformation. They will drive the transition towards a component-based architecture, establish target interfaces between components, and challenge incoming requirements to ensure alignment with the target state. The architect will evaluate and document technical design proposals, establish solutions for sourcing various data types, and analyze Front Line systems to ensure appropriate software solutions are in place for complex technology problems. Additionally, the Data Architect will perform in-depth analyses to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement in implementations. They will articulate a holistic picture of the architecture strategy, providing clear conclusions regarding appropriateness and areas needing remediation. Communication of implementation plans to stakeholders, including management, is a key responsibility, as is overseeing resource usage during tests and assessing their appropriateness. The Data Architect will also influence strategic direction and develop tactical plans to achieve the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build data architecture that is optimized for large dataset retrieval, analysis, storage, cleansing, and transformation.

  • Articulate the overall holistic picture of architecture strategy, with clear conclusions regarding appropriateness and remediation areas as required.
  • Communicate implementation plans to stakeholders, including management.
  • Oversee resource usage of tests and assess appropriateness.
  • Able to influence strategic direction, as well as develop tactical plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in fields including but not limited to: Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Process and Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Accounting, Business Administration.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to recommend and implement process control improvements.
  • Experience designing, developing, and applying scalable software solutions.
  • Programming experience via Python and SQL and possibly other languages.
  • Good understanding of a wide range of tools and ability to evaluate appropriateness as a solution for a given problem.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle.
