About the position

The Data Architect at CGI Group, Inc. is responsible for developing a future state roadmap to meet the challenging needs of clients' businesses. This role involves collaborating with senior client executives to strategize and execute their data vision, focusing on data architecture, cloud migration, and building large-scale data processing systems. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with a hybrid working model acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop future state roadmap for clients' data architecture needs.
  • Collaborate with senior client executives to strategize and execute data vision.
  • Examine new data system requirements and implement migration models.
  • Manage data projects including cloud migration, data pipelines, and virtualization.
  • Design and build data applications for ML workflows.
  • Evaluate client operations to identify database structural necessities.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support.
  • Respond to system problems in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Architecture.
  • Proficient in architectural frameworks like TOGAF and BIAN.
  • At least 2 years of experience in high visibility, high stake engagements.
  • Hands-on experience in managing data projects.
  • Experience in building large scale data processing and distributed systems using Spark/Kafka.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficient in Object-oriented programming languages like Java and Python.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or similar technologies.
