Maximus is searching for a Data Architect to join our team in Arlington, VA. The Data Architect will play a crucial role in providing subject matter expertise to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Directorate and will support senior-level leadership in various capacities. This position requires the individual to provide strategic advice, counsel, and sound recommendations that will support and defend policy decisions, synchronize investments, and drive sound outcomes. The Data Architect will be responsible for creating, defining, and evolving the 'as-is' and 'to-be' data architecture for the Department of Defense (DoD) SAP IT data services. In this role, the Data Architect will develop strategies and provide a framework to determine how to grow new data assets while evaluating existing data assets. The individual will define and provide data architecture services and reviews, ensuring compliance with design and metadata standards. Additionally, the Data Architect will develop and recommend technical solutions for data, including data ingestion, integration, transformations, and storage. Collaboration with subject matter experts and participation in client data standards committees will also be essential. The successful candidate will support the client to ensure executability and adherence to Department of Defense guidance and policies. They will develop documents to support Program Objective Memorandum Requirements and assist with the development of annual reporting requirements to Congress. Strong experience with database and enterprise architecture design and development is crucial, as well as the ability to investigate and implement new and improved data standards, including the conversion of legacy data standards. The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, and engagement with diverse stakeholders and teams. Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience leading the design, implementation, and management of IT data abstraction layers, standardizing data architecture and data management practices, and creating and implementing data business rules and data lifecycle management. The Data Architect will also help plan, develop, and implement data services in support of data profiling and curation, including data cleansing. Mapping customer legacy data models to target data models and developing long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data stewards and mission managers are also key responsibilities.
