About the position

The Data Architect will design, create, deploy, and manage the data architecture necessary for migrating customers from on-premises software to a SaaS platform. This role involves overseeing data storage, consumption, integration, and management across various data entities and IT systems, while also managing a team of Application Developers to ensure efficient operations and data migration processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Application Developers for timely and accurate data migration from on-premises applications to the SaaS solution.
• Design and implement effective database solutions and models for customer data migration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements for seamless integration and migration.
• Assess and optimize database implementation procedures for compliance with regulations.
• Develop and maintain data migration and exchange strategies, including mapping, transformation, and validation processes.
• Operationalize data processes to ensure consistency across the team.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data migration and exchange processes for integrity and performance.
• Prepare database design and architecture reports for management and executives.
• Oversee data migration from legacy systems to new solutions with minimal disruption.
• Recommend improvements for database systems and migration processes.
• Educate staff and customers on the new SaaS platform through training and support.
• Participate in hiring processes based on team capacity needs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading a technical team with similar roles and responsibilities.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Migration Specialist, or similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles and data migration best practices.
• Experience in gathering and analyzing system requirements for data migration projects.
• Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Boomi or similar).
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle or similar).
• Ability to design, develop, and maintain data exchange (ETL) processes.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
