About the position

The Data Architect position at CACI involves leading the development of data infrastructure to support military applications. The role focuses on designing and maintaining data systems that ensure the seamless flow, availability, and reliability of data for various Army programs. The Data Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to address data-related technical issues and support the integration of multiple warfighting systems, enhancing end-to-end data management and interoperability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Data architecture.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Design and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and error handling.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver relevant data sets for business intelligence.
  • Design and prototype data processes and workflows for scalability and efficiency.
  • Design a robust, on-premise data infrastructure for performance and reliability.
  • Document data pipelines, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in data governance and compliance efforts to meet military and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously provide optimization methodologies for data architectures to support the Army's evolving data needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making within the organization.
  • Design and prototype large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements.
  • Study and design an infrastructure required for optimal data handling from various sources using SQL, XML, and other technologies.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics experts to enhance functionality in data systems.
  • Provide key leaders with detailed analysis of issues with recommended solutions.

Requirements

  • An active DoD Secret Clearance
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Seven years experience in Data Architecture or Data Engineering

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science or engineering or a related discipline
  • Azure Data Architect and/or AWS Certified Data Analytics
  • Proficiency in data modeling and database management
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, or SQL)
  • Knowledge of data technologies like Hadoop, ElasticSearch, Kafka, NiFi, DataHub, Neo4J, and Spark
  • Experience with ETL, ELT, and Reverse-ETL processes
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge and experience with REST interfaces such as Node.js and Django
  • Prior experience supporting a Program or Product Office as an engineer or integrator
  • Experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with DoD practices
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework
