About the position

Publicis Sapient is seeking a Sr Manager of Data Engineering to lead a team of top-notch technologists in delivering impactful solutions for our enterprise clients. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating client needs into transformative data solutions that drive real business outcomes. You will work with some of the world's biggest brands, leveraging the latest data technologies to help them evolve in a digital-first landscape. As a trusted advisor, you will utilize data to enhance customer acquisition and engagement as part of large-scale digital transformation initiatives. Your responsibilities will include advancing the application of large-scale data platforms, which serve as a core building block for connecting brands with consumers and enabling significant business transformation. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique needs and translate these into effective technology solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in solving complex business challenges, particularly in the design of data integration and database systems. You will shape opportunities and create execution strategies throughout the lifecycle of client engagements, ensuring that all deliverables meet high-quality standards by setting development benchmarks and participating in code reviews. Additionally, you will mentor and support team members, fostering their growth and development within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients by leveraging data for customer acquisition and engagement.
• Advance the application of large-scale data platforms as a core building block for business transformation.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and translate them into technology solutions.
• Provide expertise as a technical resource to solve complex business issues related to data integration and database systems designs.
• Shape opportunities and create execution approaches throughout the lifecycle of client engagements.
• Ensure all deliverables are of high quality by setting development standards and participating in code reviews.
• Mentor, support, and manage team members.

Requirements

• Exceptional data engineering skills with a background in distributed computing and proven experience in delivering large-scale data platforms.
• Good grasp of analytics, measurement, reporting, and business intelligence including modeling, insights generation, and data science.
• Hands-on experience with big data ecosystem tools for data integration, storage, compute framework, analytics, and advanced visualization.
• Hands-on experience with at least one leading public cloud data platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Exposure to AWS EMR, Glue, Athena, S3, SQS/SNS or equivalent technologies in other cloud platforms.
• Expertise in data governance for big data with knowledge of various MDM/entity resolution solutions.
• Experience in Financial Services Data Engineering.
• Experience in building and applying best practices regarding performance, security, and cost-efficiency for data lakes.
• Ability to lead teams that rapidly learn the client's current digital ecosystem and produce a future data landscape vision and strategy.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications for any of the cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Certifications for any Machine Learning/Advanced Analytics Courses.
• Experience working with code repositories and continuous integration pipelines using AWS codebuild/code pipelines or similar tools.
• Experience in data governance and lineage implementation.
• Multi-geo and distributed delivery experience in large programs.
• Willingness to travel.
