About the position

The Data Architect at DCCA is responsible for developing and implementing data architecture strategies that align with business goals. This role involves creating and maintaining data models, overseeing data integration processes, and establishing data governance policies to ensure data quality and compliance. The Data Architect will work closely with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and optimize database performance, while also staying current with emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data architecture strategies and frameworks that align with business goals.
  • Create and maintain data models for MTF-DM, including conceptual, logical, and physical designs.
  • Oversee data integration processes, ensuring seamless data flow between systems and applications.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality and compliance.
  • Serve as a critical project role responsible for data architecture, adhering to CMS data governance and standards.
  • Work closely with database administrators, engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing best practices for data storage and retrieval.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, including data models, ETL processes, and data dictionaries.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential to improve data architecture and capabilities.
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of proven experience in data architecture and data modeling using RDBMS.
  • Proficiency in database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with data integration tools such as AWS Glue.
  • Experience with data modeling tools like Erwin.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically AWS RDS.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CMS.
  • Supporting client stakeholders with varying levels of Agile experience.
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Master's degree in information systems or computer science.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
