About the position

The Data Architect role is focused on designing, developing, and implementing data architectures specifically for cloud platforms, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders in clinical research and IT to ensure that data needs for clinical trials and partnerships are met effectively. The architect will also be responsible for establishing data governance policies to secure and manage clinical trial data efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical research, IT, and business stakeholders to understand data needs for clinical trials and CRO partnerships.
  • Design and develop a scalable and secure data architecture on Microsoft Azure, utilizing services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Design and implement data governance policies and procedures for secure access and management of clinical trial data.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of proven experience designing, developing, and implementing data architectures on cloud platforms (preferably Azure) for a CRO or similar Life Sciences Company.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional, relational, etc.).
  • Expertise in Azure data services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and scripting languages (e.g., T-SQL, Python).
  • Excellent understanding of data security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
