About the position

The Data Architect plays a crucial role in leading and supporting various data initiatives within the organization. This position is responsible for optimizing data architecture and ensuring the effective delivery of data across projects. The Data Architect will develop and implement a comprehensive organizational data strategy that aligns with business processes, particularly in the healthcare sector, focusing on Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives.
  • Expand and optimize data and data pipeline architecture.
  • Optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams in alignment with architectural governance and standards.
  • Develop and implement an overall organizational data strategy in line with business processes.
  • Design data models and establish database development standards.
  • Implement and manage data warehouses and data analytics systems.
  • Identify internal and external data sources and create a data management plan.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for enterprise data system functionality.
  • Manage end-to-end data architecture, including platform selection and technical architecture design.
  • Define and manage data flow and information dissemination within the organization.
  • Integrate technical functionality to ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and security.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements, including automation and infrastructure redesign.
  • Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Azure services such as Azure VMs, Azure storage, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, debug, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC), PowerShell, and Azure CLI scripts.
  • Understanding of Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks and Azure Gateways.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles and hands-on experience with Azure security tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep knowledge of US Pharmacy and Pharmacy Marketing Datasets.
  • Intimate knowledge of data management in healthcare, specifically in PBM.
  • Experience with optimizing cloud costs using Azure Cost Management.
