About the position

The Data Architect will support IT management and execution functions across various units and systems, focusing on enhancing enterprise business intelligence, analytical capabilities, and user support. The role involves architecting, designing, and developing components of enterprise data warehouses to improve quality and usability.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of IT management and execution functions across units and systems.
• Enhance and maintain enterprise business intelligence and analytical capabilities.
• Architect, design, and develop enterprise data warehouse components including data marts and operational data stores.
• Build star schemas and Type I and Type II dimensions for data modeling.
• Develop and maintain a metadata repository.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in architecting, designing, and developing enterprise data warehouse components.
• Extensive experience building star schemas and working with large enterprise data warehousing and BI projects.
• Extensive knowledge in dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience in building conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Experience in developing and maintaining a metadata repository.
• Experience with at least one major RDBMS platform (DB2, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using data modeling tools, preferably ERWin and/or TOAD Data Modeler.
• Understanding of ETL tools, preferably Informatica.
• Prior work experience with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
