About the position

The Data Architect is responsible for reviewing and analyzing current data infrastructures, planning future databases, and implementing solutions to effectively store and manage data for the organization. This role involves supporting the design, development, testing, and implementation of processes that integrate data from various source systems into the data warehouse, ensuring data governance and quality across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across teams to understand data and analytics needs and recommend solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams.
  • Identify internal and external data sources to establish data pipelines.
  • Develop new data models and implement tables in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
  • Assist with populating and maintaining metadata for the EDW.
  • Monitor usage and performance of the EDW and address any issues.
  • Implement new data integrations and support changes to existing integrations.
  • Investigate performance issues with queries and ETL processes, optimizing database speed.
  • Support data analysts with complex problems using advanced SQL and data visualization techniques.
  • Conduct end-user training for the EDW and its applications.
  • Contribute to the definition and adherence to the EDW team's guiding principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Working knowledge in Cloud/Big Data solutions or related technologies.
  • Expertise in data architecture concepts such as data modeling, workflow management, ETL/ELT, and real-time streaming.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure/Synapse/Power BI, SSIS, Epic EHR, or Workday ERP.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in managing concurrent projects with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with healthcare data systems.
  • Familiarity with advanced SQL methods and innovative data visualization techniques.
