About the position

The Data Architect at JANUS Research Group is responsible for designing and implementing data models, data flow, interfaces, and infrastructure to meet the information requirements of the organization. This role involves developing a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives, managing data sources, and ensuring data integrity and security, particularly in a classified environment.

Responsibilities

• Design system data models, data flow, interfaces, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement an organization-wide data strategy.
• Identify internal and external data sources and manage data accordingly.
• Monitor and optimize data infrastructure.
• Evaluate database structural necessities and prepare design reports.
• Advise leadership on critical data management issues.
• Consult with stakeholders to evaluate functional requirements for AI and data applications.
• Collaborate to address classified data requirements and configure solutions for data integrity.
• Provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.
• Evaluate data storage requirements and implement backup and recovery strategies.
• Plan and manage effective storage capacity strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in data management or information technology.
• DoD cyber certification as an IAT level II.
• Experience aligned to DoD Cybersecurity Workforce code 653 (data architect).
