About the position

We are currently seeking a Data Architect/Engineer to architect solutions that extract sales data and build data ingestion pipelines. This role will involve working closely with a range of stakeholders, including executive leadership and an overseas vendor. As the Data Architect, you will contribute to and lead the development of our enterprise data and analytics platform. You will provide technical leadership while promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation, helping to ensure that technologies align with the overall business objectives. This role demands strong communication skills as it involves working closely with the business. It offers the opportunity to add value to a dynamic team while developing robust solutions in an environment geared towards constant learning.

Responsibilities

• Pulling sales data out of SAP and into Snowflake
• Building data ingestion pipelines
• Providing technical leadership to drive the architectural vision and implementation of our data solutions
• Advocating and implementing best data engineering and architectural practices
• Mentoring and guiding junior to mid-level team members
• Working closely with product managers, software developers, and other stakeholders to deliver quality features and improvements
• Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Data/Solution Architect
• Snowflake (cloud-based data warehouse) - building data ingestion pipelines (Snowpipe); data security and data access controls and design; updates to modeling principles, solutions, methods
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience with AWS
• Proficiency in any Data Transformation Tool (ideally DBT, but will also consider Informatica, Fivetran, Matillion, Coalesce)
• Good communication skills - will work closely with the business. Must have the ability to get up and run a meeting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Power BI or other Data Analytics tools
• Working knowledge of Data Vault Methodology
• Experience performing SAP to AWS
• Working knowledge of Python or Java
• Experience with Agile
• Hands-on experience with DevOps
• Experience with Github or other code repositories
• Certified Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse Architect
• Certification in Cloud platform (ideally AWS)
