About the position

Softtek Government Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Architect to join their team. The role involves analyzing, modeling, developing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining database models to support large government programs. The Data Architect will collaborate with program managers, stakeholders, business analysts, and developers to ensure effective data architecture solutions that meet business requirements and support data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture solutions to meet business requirements and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data flow diagrams, and data dictionaries.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of data from various sources into a unified data warehouse or data lake.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure the quality of data-related configurations and customizations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data architecture and data integration.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data architecture and data management.
  • Mentor and train junior team members on data architecture and data management best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of direct related experience.
  • Permanent Residence/Green Card allowed (must live in the USA).
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling, and database design.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as Oracle database, SQL Server, or similar.
  • Knowledge of legacy mainframe database and data management (DB2, VSAM, IMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data security best practices.
  • Certifications related to data architecture or data management.
  • Previous experience working for U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) programs.
