About the position

The Data Architect position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on the development and implementation of enterprise data architecture. This includes a comprehensive approach to cloud data transformation, data governance, data quality, data standards, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Master Data Management (MDM), Generative AI, and data science initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating data architecture plans and ensuring their execution in collaboration with both business and IT stakeholders. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving various data and analytics initiatives. This includes defining cloud reference architectures that promote reusable patterns and best practices for data integration and consumption. You will guide the data science team in implementing data models and analytics models, serving as a data science architect who delivers technology and architecture services to the data science community. Additionally, you will provide guidance to application development teams on the data design of complex solutions within a large data ecosystem, ensuring alignment with data architecture principles, standards, strategies, and target states. Your responsibilities will also include creating, maintaining, and governing architectural views and blueprints that depict the current, transitional, and future states of the Business and IT landscape. You will define and maintain standards for artifacts containing architectural content within the operating model and build a Community of Practice for solutions architecture, leveraging architectural tools, processes, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data architecture plans and drive their execution in collaboration with business and IT.
  • Play a key role in driving data and analytics initiatives including cloud data transformation, data governance, data quality, CRM, MDM, Generative AI, and data science.
  • Define cloud reference architectures to promote reusable patterns and best practices for data integration and consumption.
  • Guide the data science team in implementing data models and analytics models.
  • Serve as a data science architect delivering technology and architecture services to the data science community.
  • Guide application development teams in the data design of complex solutions within a large data ecosystem.
  • Create, maintain, and govern architectural views and blueprints depicting the Business and IT landscape in its current, transitional, and future state.
  • Define and maintain standards for artifacts containing architectural content within the operating model.
  • Build a Community of Practice for solutions architecture while leveraging architectural tools, processes, and practices.

Requirements

  • Strong cloud data architecture knowledge, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience developing architecture strategies and plans for cloud data transformation, MDM, data governance, and data science capabilities.
  • Ability to design reusable data architecture and best practices for batch/streaming ingestion and integration/ETL.
  • Experience leading software evaluations including RFP development and delivery of executive presentations.
  • Well-versed in data domains such as Data Warehousing, Data Governance, MDM, Data Quality, Data Standards, and Analytics.
  • Capable of communicating data concepts to varied forums and audiences, advocating for data quality and standards.
  • Experience with cloud data technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Fabric, Azure Storage, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Cloudera, Spark, Sqoop, Hive, HDFS, Flume, Storm, and Kafka.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft CoPilot and exposure to TensorFlow and Python NLTK is a plus.
  • Typically requires 17 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education, and training.
