About the position

The Data Architect position is a 12-month contract role focused on designing and implementing scalable data solutions in Azure environments. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in data architecture and cloud computing to shape data strategy, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data architectures that support business requirements and optimize performance in Azure environments.
• Develop and oversee ETL processes, ensuring seamless data integration across multiple sources and platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud strategies and best practices for data management and governance.
• Monitor and optimize data performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of data solutions.
• Implement security measures and compliance standards to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to align data initiatives with business goals.
• Create and maintain documentation related to data architecture, processes, and workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of demonstrable experience as a data architect or in a similar capacity with data modeling and design roles.
• Strong understanding of Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.
• Expertise in all components of a modern data platform including database management, Ingestion, ELT, Transform, Orchestration, Analytics and Application layers.
• Experience in designing, deploying and managing data pipelines supporting ML and/or AI use cases.
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
