About the position

The Data Architect role is focused on developing and maintaining data architecture standards and best practices to ensure high-quality data capabilities. This position involves creating roadmaps that align with business objectives, addressing performance bottlenecks, and implementing strategies for data governance and management. The architect will work closely with engineering and product teams to drive impactful business decisions through effective data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enforce data architecture standards, best practices, and design patterns to ensure consistency and quality across data capabilities
• Develop roadmaps for data architecture capabilities that align with business objectives and overall technology strategy
• Influence engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities and drive impactful business decisions
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the data platform
• Implement data partitioning, sharding, and indexing strategies to optimize query performance and reduce latency
• Ensure the platform is designed for high availability, reliability, and fault tolerance
• Develop and enforce best practices for data governance, data security, and data management within the platform
• Implement data cataloging and metadata management tools to improve data discoverability and usability across the organization

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a cloud-focused data architect
• Deep understanding of data modeling principles, including schema design and dimensional data modeling
• Experience in writing efficient SQL queries
• Expertise in data technologies (Spark, Kafka, RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop)
• Ability to architect and develop scalable data solutions
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Python for building data applications and automating workflows
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and master data management best practices
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
