About the position

The Data Architect at Ariana Solutions is responsible for designing and implementing scalable and sustainable data engineering solutions using tools such as Databricks and Azure. This role requires strong leadership skills to build and lead complex technical engineering teams, ensuring the optimization and maintenance of data pipelines as they transition from development to production. The position demands a high level of communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including product management and customers, to align technical vision with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Implement scalable and sustainable data engineering solutions using Databricks, Azure, Apache Spark, and Python.
• Create, maintain, and optimize data pipelines as workloads transition from development to production.
• Lead and build highly complex technical engineering teams.
• Work cross-functionally with product management and directly with customers to understand product and customer personas.
• Set and lead the technical vision while balancing business drivers.
• Manage distributed teams and handle ambiguity in project requirements.

Requirements

• 10-14 years of relevant experience in data architecture or engineering.
• Bachelor's and/or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• At least two years of experience building and leading technical engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on experience in Databricks and Azure Cloud platform.
• Good SQL knowledge and experience orchestrating workloads on the cloud.
• Strong experience with PySpark and Python programming.
• Solid grasp of database engineering and design principles.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Unity Catalog.
• Familiarity with CI/CD methods.
• Good to have Teradata experience.
