About the position

The Data Architect will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable data solutions that align with the company's business goals. This position involves overseeing the development of a serverless data lake and cloud data warehouse, leading data pipeline improvements, and establishing data architecture standards in a fully remote and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design scalable, high-performance data solutions using technologies like Snowflake, AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue), Airflow, and DBT.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a serverless data lake and cloud data warehouse, alongside the associated data pipelines.
  • Establish and enforce data architecture standards, ensuring long-term maintainability and alignment with best practices.
  • Monitor platform performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
  • Implement robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.
  • Lead a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data pipelines, architecture, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Expertise in AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Airflow) and proficiency in Snowflake.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, ETL processes, and performance tuning in distributed environments.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
