About the position

The Data Architect position involves a comprehensive assessment of the current data environment within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying data silos, redundancies, inconsistencies, and compliance gaps that may exist in the current architecture. This role requires documenting the current state of data architecture and processes, which includes creating comprehensive data architecture diagrams, data lineage documentation, system infrastructure diagrams, ETL/ELT process documentation, and a reporting catalog. Additionally, the Data Architect will develop a target state data architecture blueprint that aligns with the organization's strategic goals. The role also entails evaluating the existing data governance and data quality framework and policies, assessing the current technology infrastructure, and identifying opportunities for cloud migration. A phased implementation roadmap will be created, detailing resource allocation and timelines for the proposed initiatives. The Data Architect will conduct a cost-benefit analysis of the proposed data architecture initiatives and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the existing data team, including a skills assessment and capacity analysis. Furthermore, the Data Architect will assess the effectiveness and efficiency of current data-related processes and review the capabilities and limitations of existing data technologies.
