About the position

Genesis10 is seeking an experienced Data Architecture Consultant to support the development and enhancement of our data warehousing solutions within the Financial Services Industry. This contract opportunity is located in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data modeling and designing robust data warehouse architectures using Azure-based technologies. While familiarity with the residential home mortgage and capital markets sectors is beneficial, it is not required. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts and business leaders to capture and document data warehouse requirements, conducting a comprehensive review of the existing data warehouse, and developing a detailed gap report to identify discrepancies between current capabilities and documented requirements. Additionally, the consultant will assist in creating a high-level roadmap for transitioning from the current state to the desired future state, collaborate with technical staff to design logical data models, and code a proof of concept (POC) for one subject area to validate proposed data solutions. The consultant will also prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication on project progress and future plans.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to capture and document data warehouse requirements.
• Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing data warehouse to assess its current state and efficiency.
• Develop a detailed gap report to identify discrepancies between the current data warehouse capabilities and the documented requirements.
• Assist in creating a high-level roadmap to transition from the current state to the desired future state.
• Collaborate with technical staff to design and present logical data models that align with business objectives and technological advancements.
• Code a proof of concept (POC) for one subject area to validate the proposed data solutions.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in data modeling, with a significant focus on designing data warehouse solutions.
• Minimum of 5 years specializing in data warehouse design, including experience with data lakes, data-lake houses, and Azure-based technologies such as Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Proficiency in various data warehouse modeling techniques including 3NF, Dimensional, Vault, and OBT.
• Strong command of Azure data services and understanding of how to leverage them to meet complex data management needs.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
