About the position

The Senior Denodo Data Architect is responsible for overseeing the execution of GST's data delivery strategy utilizing Denodo. This role involves all phases of analytic projects, including requirements gathering, data architecture, integration guidance, and developing support artifacts. The architect will lead the team in building a self-sustainable BI platform, create best practices, define data architecture standards, and manage BI demand while ensuring data security and performance across various applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of GST's data delivery strategy utilizing Denodo.
• Engage with users and stakeholders to prioritize and develop data-centric work products.
• Work with internal and external partners to deliver data-related solutions for projects.
• Create and track KPIs for enterprise data virtualization service capability.
• Drive the architecture and design of data solutions.
• Refine the current Denodo deployment with sound data architecture.
• Ensure data security is maintained across all layers.
• Design integration with front-end tools and back-end applications.
• Establish processes for architecture review and code review.
• Maintain and extend agile data development methodology.
• Create reusable semantic and report-specific data layers.
• Develop techniques for optimizing solutions, including caching and performance testing.
• Troubleshoot issues within the data platform and ensure SLAs are met.
• Establish operations to keep the platform stable and up-to-date.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling and SQL.
• 3+ years of experience working with Denodo or similar data virtualization platforms.
• Strong understanding of Data Virtualization principles with 3+ years of Denodo administration and development experience.
• Comprehensive experience in data modeling across various data environments.
• 6+ years of SQL experience with demonstrated ability to optimize queries.
• Familiarity with security protocols like LDAP and SSL.
• Experience with JDBC, XML, and Web Services APIs.
• Basic understanding of SAP apps and integration into data architectures.
• Working knowledge of cloud-based data solutions, particularly in hybrid environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS and Databricks or similar data engineering platforms.
• Familiarity with version control systems like GIT.
• Denodo Platform Certification (Architect level) or equivalent experience.
• Certification in data architecture or relevant data virtualization platforms.
