About the position

The Data Architect position at Orchard LLC involves supporting a Federal contractor focused on Financial and Budgetary Management, Data Analytics, and IT Infrastructure, particularly for the Department of Defense. The role requires junior to mid-level Data Architects with active Secret clearances to contribute to data management strategies and ensure data models align with client strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis and validation of data models and other solution components to ensure they meet the intent of the client's strategy.
  • Support system analysis, software changes, and integrations across multiple technologies.
  • Support the review of client data policies and system data fields to understand how the relevant data model will impact day-to-day operations.
  • Contribute to the establishment of data management strategies, principles, models, and standards.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in applicable field.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both technical and functional team members.
  • Strong ability to break down problems, structure your own work and that of others, and deliver outcomes and valuable outputs on aggressive timelines.
  • Experience with complex problem-solving strategies, able to determine the source of a problem and find effective solutions through in-depth evaluation of varying factors.
  • Experience using Enterprise Architecture tools like ARIS, Enterprise Architect, etc.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and other data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Agile practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience supporting large-scale IT transformation with multiple stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large-scale government ERP finance implementations and data.
  • Proficiency in using Atlassian Jira, ServiceNow, or similar project management tools.
  • Experience facilitating collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working remotely within a large project.
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.
  • Experience in SQL, Python, data modeling, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with data management, data architecture, and data modeling within the DoD.
