Data Architect

About the position

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Data Architect to design a system's data models, data flow, interfaces, and infrastructure to meet the information requirements of a business or mission. The role involves developing and implementing an overall organization data strategy that aligns with business processes and objectives, identifying data sources, and managing data in accordance with the data strategy. The Data Architect will also monitor and optimize the data infrastructure, prepare database design and architecture reports, and advise leadership on critical data management issues. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with stakeholders to evaluate functional requirements for Artificial Intelligence and data applications, ensuring data integrity and security, and planning for data storage and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement overall organization data strategy that is in line with business processes and objectives.
• Identify data sources, both internal and external, and work out a plan for data management that is aligned with the data strategy.
• Monitor and optimize the data infrastructure.
• Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating operations, applications, and programming.
• Prepare database design and architecture reports.
• Advise higher level leadership on critical data management issues.
• Consult with customers and key stakeholders to evaluate functional requirements for Artificial Intelligence and data applications.
• Collaborate with appropriate personnel to address classified data requirements and configure technical solutions to provide data integrity and security.
• Provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.
• Evaluate data storage requirements, prepare, and implement data backup, recovery and secondary data storage and disaster recovery.
• Plan and manage effective storage capacity strategies.
• Confer with systems analysts, engineers, system owners, etc to design applications for data management.
• Analyze and plan for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements.

Requirements

• Experience developing and implementing overall organization data strategy in line with business processes and objectives
• Experience identifying data sources, both internal and external, and working out a plan for data management in line with the data strategy
• Experience examining and identifying database structural necessities by evaluating operations, applications, and programming
• Ability to advise higher level leadership on critical data management issues
• Ability to consult with customers and key stakeholders to evaluate functional requirements for artificial intelligence and data applications
• Ability to evaluate data storage requirements and prepare and implement data backup, recovery, and secondary data storage and disaster recovery
• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Data Management or IT
• DoD IAT Level II Cyber Certification
