About the position

Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Data Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our enterprise analytics infrastructure across multiple business functions, applications, and systems. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, focusing on ensuring the efficient ingestion, curation, and modeling of data across various platforms. Your efforts will enable seamless data flow and accessibility, which are crucial for informed decision-making within the organization. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to design and implement a robust data architecture that supports business objectives and enhances decision-making capabilities. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for the design, oversight, and implementation of data architecture solutions, ensuring that data is accurately ingested, curated, and modeled. You will utilize your professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to creatively solve extremely complex problems. Regular interaction with senior management or executive levels will be a key aspect of your role, as you will advise on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. You will exercise independent judgment in developing, approving, and maintaining a data hub as a central repository, managing data flow while ensuring high performance and reliability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You will also create and manage IoT and social web architecture, making data accessible and meaningful to business users. Compliance with data governance policies and best practices will be a priority, supporting data catalog and dictionary efforts. Additionally, you will oversee the integration of legacy data warehouses into the new data architecture, retiring outdated systems and maintaining system documentation used in design, testing, or programming efforts. Your technical guidance will contribute to the development of data architecture that supports business strategies, and you will provide mentoring for other team members.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture or a related field, with a strong understanding of cloud-based data solutions or equivalent combination of education and 8+ years' experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Digital Twin, Simulation, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
