About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's data utilization as a strategic asset to meet corporate goals. This position involves the strategic design, development, and implementation of data models for enterprise-level applications and systems, ensuring that data architecture aligns with business objectives and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data users, department managers, business units, and other key stakeholders.
  • Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall data management roadmap in alignment to the Bank's data governance program.
  • Establishes processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of corporate metadata; takes steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity.
  • Establishes methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement.
  • Creates strategies and plans for data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving.
  • Conducts data capacity planning, lifecycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks.
  • Ensures data strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance.
  • Determines governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing data across the organization.
  • Selects and implements the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support data technology goals.
  • Oversees the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality.
  • Collaborates with Data Governance Manager, project managers, and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise data.
  • Addresses data-related problems in regard to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform integration.
  • Identifies and develops opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and development plans for enterprise architecture and infrastructure operations.
  • Documents the data architecture and environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture at the bank.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering or relevant field preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience as technology, systems, data, or information architect.
  • At least 6 years of robust knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience with Azure or Snowflake.
  • Experience with NetApp, SAN, or Dell EMC storage.
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure enterprise solutions aligned with TOGAF standards.
  • Experience deploying and leveraging an EA Architecture Modeling Language (ArchiMate).
  • Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
  • Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, and reporting structures.
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting technique.
