About the position

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing scalable and secure data architecture solutions within a financial services organization. This role involves evaluating current data usage and ETL processes, developing future data architecture, and influencing the overall data strategy to align with business goals. The Data Architect will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, steering data and cloud transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document current data consumption and ETL practices within the organization.
  • Define a future state architecture that supports scalable, secure, and compliant data infrastructure for on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Influence the data strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Design secure, cost-effective, and high-performing on-premise and cloud solutions.
  • Lead technical teams in implementing cloud-based solutions, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Architect solutions to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency while minimizing risk.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to development teams on cloud services and best practices.
  • Advise senior stakeholders as a strategic cloud transformation expert.
  • Implement security best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Configure IAM, encryption, and other security services to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Set up comprehensive monitoring and logging to ensure resource availability and performance.
  • Continuously assess resources for optimization opportunities and cost-saving measures.
  • Design and implement robust Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and document all architectural designs and processes.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in roles such as Data Architect or Solutions Architect with a financial services background.
  • Advanced expertise in cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native applications, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Deep familiarity with BFSI regulatory frameworks and understanding of cybersecurity principles within financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; advanced degrees or advanced cloud certifications are a plus.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills to influence strategy and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
