About the position

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Architect to join our team in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will become an integral part of a diverse team while working at an industry-leading organization where our employees come first. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing and supervising a data infrastructure, data flows, and data management principles. This includes coding visual aspects of a database, such as display icons and interfaces, and creating code libraries and instructional materials for other professionals to update data systems. You will also identify installation solutions for new databases, determine requirements for new databases, and identify areas of improvement for current databases. The position requires a strong understanding of data standards, including common formats, representation, definition, structuring, manipulation, tagging, transmission, use, and management of data. You will need to have extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing business applications from concept through to production. Additionally, you will work with data programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL, as well as data orchestration and integration pipelines. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services or Azure is essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with major cloud providers such as CIA Commercial Cloud Enterprise or NSA GOVCLOUD. Understanding the software development lifecycle, including Agile and traditional project management methodologies, is also crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and supervises a data infrastructure, data flows, and data management principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data science or related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • 5-10 years of professional and technical experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or related role developing data models and architectural solutions.
  • 5-10 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing business applications from business concept through to production.
  • 5-10 years of experience working with data programming languages (Python, Java, SQL, etc.) and data orchestration and integration pipelines.
  • Knowledge of developing and using data standards comprising common formats, representation, definition, structuring, manipulation, tagging, transmission, use, and management of data.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms similar to Amazon Web Services, Azure or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with CIA Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) or NSA GOVCLOUD or other major cloud providers.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle including Agile and traditional project management and delivery methodologies.
  • Senior level operations management, administrative management, or project management experience within the past five years.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and competing requirements. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves
