About the position

The Data Base Clerk position is a non-production role focused on accurate data entry rather than speed. The incumbent will be responsible for transcribing data from source documents into computerized records, handling monetary transactions, and performing routine clerical tasks under direct supervision. This role emphasizes attention to detail and adherence to structured procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe data from source documents into a computer to create or modify computerized records.
  • Collect and account for monies received, maintaining related records.
  • Perform a variety of routine clerical tasks as required.
  • Follow well-defined and structured procedures under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
  • One year of clerical experience, including six months of experience in typing or operating a micro-computer or data entry machine.
  • Ability to operate a data entry machine or personal computer accurately.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with considerable visual effort.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Formal training in typing or operation of personal computers or data entry machines.
