About the position

The Data Business System Analyst will be responsible for translating business needs into technical requirements, managing logical data models, and collaborating with ingestion and curation teams. This role requires a deep understanding of data governance, data curation, and complex metadata management, ensuring that data products meet business requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and priorities.
• Develop technical requirements based on metrics established by business teams.
• Design logical data model and orchestration requirements.
• Own and manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team.
• Oversee data catalog entries and enforce data cataloging rules.
• Manage access controls for end data products.
• Manage change requests to the structure, definitions and/or security of identified data objects.
• Communicate with the Business Data System Owner and Business Data Steward on metric updates.
• Act as escalation point for Data Quality Analysts when defined processes are insufficient to resolve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or MBA.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with SQL.
• Experience with Python or other programming languages.
• Familiarity with Databricks or other cloud data management platforms.
• Experience in technical and business data cataloging.
• Proven experience in logical data modeling, including designing logical data models.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Experience in data dictionary development.
• Proven experience in data management, requirements management, and metadata management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Databricks-SparkSQL-Scala/Python/Java.
