About the position

The Data Center Facilities Analyst will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive technical support for daily data center operations. This position involves working closely with end users, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of critical electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center. The equipment managed by the analyst supports mission-critical servers, and it is essential to maintain an uptime of better than 99.95%. The analyst will be responsible for driving innovation to reduce operational costs while maintaining high reliability and performance in the facilities. In this role, the Data Center Facilities Analyst will collaborate with Engineering and REFCO to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities. This includes managing standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries, CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors. The analyst will also perform space and network planning analysis in conjunction with IT Systems Engineering project managers, ensuring that power utilization of servers within individual racks and the overall data center environment is effectively planned and managed. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently manage their performance across these responsibilities, ensuring that all project scopes identified by project managers are met efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical support for daily data center operations.
  • Ensure the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center.
  • Maintain better than 99.95% uptime for mission-critical servers.
  • Drive innovation to reduce operational costs while maintaining high reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and REFCO to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities.
  • Manage standby diesel generators and related fuel systems.
  • Oversee 3-phase electrical systems including switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries.
  • Manage CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors.
  • Perform space and network planning analysis with IT Systems Engineering project managers.
  • Independently plan power utilization of servers within individual racks and the data center environment as a whole.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working in Data Centers with hands-on implementations.
  • 4 - 7 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems infrastructure including cooling, electrical, and emergency systems.
  • Competency in PC and desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • 4-year degree in an associated field of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred.
  • Previous healthcare data center experience preferred.
  • Experience with data center monitoring tools preferred.
