About the position

At Mutual of America Financial Group, we are seeking a Data Center and Computer Operations Analyst to join our team on the 3rd shift (11 PM to 7 AM). This role is crucial in ensuring that our computer systems operate smoothly and securely, thereby maintaining productivity and minimizing disruptions across the company. The analyst will be responsible for monitoring computer systems, maintaining constant communication with third-party providers, and ensuring that all processes are functioning effectively. The position involves managing batch cycles using Stonebranch Workload Scheduler for various interactions with AWS Cloud computing, Salesforce, FIS, and Omni DC. The analyst will monitor, identify, and resolve scheduling conflicts and issues, escalating them as necessary. Daily backup operations and data recovery processes will be executed and overseen by the analyst, who will also troubleshoot and escalate any system software, hardware, and network issues promptly. Accurate logging and documentation of system operations, issues, and resolutions are essential responsibilities of this role. Participation in disaster recovery planning and testing is also required, along with creating, maintaining, and adjusting schedules based on project requirements. In addition, the analyst will perform analysis, design, and implementation of batch processing workflows using the Stonebranch workload scheduler. Maintaining the Problem Determination System by updating, assigning, and closing tickets with root cause and resolution is another critical aspect of this position. Flexibility is key, as this role may require covering the 2nd shift when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and issues and escalate if needed.
  • Execute and oversee daily backup operations and data recovery processes.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and escalate system software, hardware, and network issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of system operations, issues, and resolutions.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Create, maintain, and adjust schedules based on project requirements.
  • Perform analysis, design and implementation of batch processing workflows using Stonebranch workload scheduler.
  • Maintain Problem Determination System by updating, assigning and closing tickets with root cause and resolution.
  • Cover 2nd shift when needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Stonebranch (or like scheduling software)
  • A basic understanding of how computer hardware and software work.
  • The ability to communicate well with others.
  • An understanding of process management, file systems, security.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management and organization skills for prioritizing tasks accurately based on a production schedule.
  • Familiarity with common operating systems and network monitoring programs.

  • Integrity to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive business data.
  • Verbal and written communication to explain complex technical information to users with little technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work 11 PM to 7 AM and must have a flexible schedule.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud environment experience (AWS, Salesforce)
  • Knowledge of workload scheduling technologies (e.g., Stonebranch, Broadcom ESP, IBM/TWS).
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or like change and incident management software.
  • Knowledge of SolarWinds, VMware/Horizon, WinSCP.
