About the position

The role involves working directly with clients and consultants on data center physical layer build-out or expansion projects. The position focuses on designing and developing proposal packages that include drawings and bills of materials, ensuring customer demands are met through effective project management and technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Completes data projects by establishing project objectives, milestones, and standards for builds, upgrades, and expansions.
  • Develops topology drawings, rack elevations, product specifications, project implementation proposals, and BOM generation.
  • Generates supporting documentation including application drawings, product recommendations, and final client presentations.
  • Works with a cross-functional team to identify customer needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Incorporates best practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies into design frameworks.
  • Provides technical phone support for internal and end users focusing on data center products and system applications.
  • Offers technical sales support including pre- and post-sale assistance and design application support.
  • Delivers technical sales presentations in support of RSM and SAM territory accounts, requiring travel.
  • Generates responses for RFPs and RFIs.
  • Maintains the engineering database by entering and monitoring project milestones.

Requirements

  • Data center management, systems integration, structured topology and infrastructure design experience.
  • Proficient in CAD systems, specifically VISIO & AutoCAD.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of BIM.
  • Basic understanding of industry codes and cabling standards.
  • Experience in physical layer infrastructure design utilizing Leviton Fiber and copper products.
  • Knowledge of data center solutions including cabinets, active hardware, computing devices, and power systems.
  • Understanding of physical layer data center infrastructure including copper, fiber, patching, and routing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with coworkers and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry recognized Data Center accreditation such as DCDC, DCIE, DCIS preferred.
  • 10 years' experience in infrastructure design, data center design, or installation services in a supervisory capacity.
