About the position

The Data Center Engineer - Level 4 position at Insight Global involves working on-site in the DFW area to support the deployment of a new data center facility. This role focuses on preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of various data center components, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and deployment standards. The engineer will also apply advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues and manage hardware decommissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center components according to specific instructions.
• Perform post-execution quality checks to verify proper setup of grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
• Apply advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Decommission hardware for complex changes following standard procedures.
• Verify security compliance for decommissions and communicate incidents to management.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Previous experience working in a data center environment.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
• Experience deploying a new data center.
