About the position

The Data Center Facility Manager at Amazon is a critical role responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within data centers. This position ensures the reliability and availability of data center operations, maintaining high performance while minimizing costs. The manager acts as a technical resource, troubleshooting equipment issues and leading a team of engineering technicians to uphold service levels and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure.
• Ensure that all work performed within the space is done to high quality and without impact to internal/external customers.
• Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career.
• Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion.
• Coordinate daily with a multitude of third-party vendors ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs.
• Effectively manage the operations budget and expenditures.
• Operate as the afterhours on-call Data Center Facility Manager, responding to issues and managing investigations, mitigations, and recoveries.

Requirements

• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
• 3+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
• 1+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
