About the position

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role at Amazon involves maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems within data centers. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and availability of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, supporting the operations of some of the world's most powerful data centers. Technicians will work closely with teams to implement new technologies and practices, contributing to the overall mission of providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Engage in technical writing to support the change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, executing projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on-site support for contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training from a military or trade school, or 1+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical, HVAC, or fire systems in a mission-critical infrastructure.
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
