As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will be part of a diverse team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams across AWS to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while providing extensive capacity at minimal costs for our customers. In this role, you will engage in projects of moderate complexity, assisting in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA). You will perform essential tasks such as rack installations, decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management. Additionally, you will provide key performance indicators to senior engineers and manage on-site contractors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation. Monitoring the performance of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center will be a critical part of your responsibilities. You will also ensure adherence to safety procedures while performing your work. The position requires flexibility in work schedules, with shifts potentially lasting up to 12 hours and rotating based on site needs. Some locations may also require on-call rotations. You will be responsible for maintaining the critical infrastructure equipment of the data center, ensuring an impressive 99.999% uptime for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio. The role may involve supporting multiple locations and requires physical capabilities such as walking on uneven terrain, lifting weights, and performing various construction tasks. As part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team, you will help maintain and operate critical infrastructure systems, ensuring they are prepared for any situation.
